The 2015 Conference on Postharvest and Agro-Processing Extension in Africa

SAA, SAFE and Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) in Ethiopia will jointly organize a conference on postharvest and agro-processing extension in Africa at the Haile Conference Center in Hawassa, Ethiopia from 24 to 26 June, 2015. SG 2000 Uganda as Best Disseminator of Drought Tolerant Maize

Sasakawa Global 2000 (SG2000) Uganda won an award from CIMMYT (International Maize and Wheat Improvement Centre) and IITA (International Institute of Tropical Agriculture) as the best NGO for the dissemination of the Drought Tolerant Maize (DTM) variety. Similarly, our Crop Productivity Enhancement Coordinator in Uganda, Hilary Rugema, won the same award as the best disseminator of the said technology from the same organizations. Borlaug Centenary Celebrated in Uganda

From 7 to 11 July, Uganda marked the centenary of the birth of Dr Norman Borlaug, Nobel Laureate and founding President of the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA), with a series of events to emphasise the importance of agriculture to Uganda’s economy and the opportunities it offers to the youth in providing employment whilst stimulating skills and entrepreneurial activities. Agreement with K+S Group on a Partnership Project in the Northern Uganda

SAA renewed MOU with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Nigeria
