As part of its Inclusive Markets and Agri-business Development (IMA) approach, Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) Mali facilitated a strategic intermediation meeting on 16 April 2026 in Guéssébougou between the Union des Coopératives Céréalières de Guéssébougou (UCCG) and the agribusiness company TOGUNA. The meeting aimed to strengthen partnerships between producer cooperatives and private input suppliers ahead of the 2026 cropping season.

During the meeting, UCCG presented its plan to cultivate 200 hectares of cereal crops and expressed a need for approximately 50 tons of fertilizer, including urea and NPK. With technical facilitation from SAA Mali, discussions focused on bulk supply conditions, pricing, delivery timelines, and access to seasonal credit. Financing options, including guarantee mechanisms supported by Banque Nationale de Développement Agricole (BNDA), were also explored.

This initiative is expected to improve timely access to quality inputs for 18 cooperatives, reduce delays and costs, and contribute to increased agricultural productivity and food security. By fostering stronger relationships among key actors in the agricultural sector, SAA Mali continues to promote market-oriented solutions that increase production, improve incomes, and enhance food security.
